A variety of tapes can be used in sports taping with the type of tape depending upon the area of the body to be taped and also the reason for using the tape. The colourful kinesiology tape is possibly the best recognised tape and is useful for many different applications; it can also be left on for several days at a time.
Taping should be used in conjunction with a rehabilitation program that is aimed at reducing inflammation and restoring range of motion, stability, strength, and proprioception.
